After a long pause, here I am, back on track, sharing a little project for the weekend.

As I was scrolling through my Instagram timeline, I stumbled onto the picture of an amazing chocolate cake and my heart skipped a beat. It not only looked absolutely delicious, but by following the account that published it, I actually ended up discovering a very cool new blog called Libaliano.

Meet The Parents

Hello 2013…! (Err…yes and welcome to 23 days ago, I know…).

The last post on this blog has been all about my unusual Christmas in London (which was absolutely lovely by the way) and my excitement for our upcoming trip to South Africa to meet my partner’s family.

For the last three weeks I really wanted to write and post and keep my blog alive (although it is still quite “young” and I am still quite new to all this), but I have been on some sort of emotional roller coaster and it kind of stopped me from simply doing it.

Progressively the initial excitement turned itself into some kind of anxiety and a (not so) subtle fear of what to expect from this big first time (in an unfamiliar location being introduced to my partner’s family for the first time).

2012: An Unusual Christmas!

Since Christmas decorations have made their appearance in the streets here in London (and in all shops’ windows) everything has happened exactly and precisely the way it always has at this time of the year, including the already mentioned final rush of Christmas shopping for family and friends.

Tomorrow night I will be doing the cooking and I feel really good about it (to all my amazing friends who are probably now thinking “Ah, we got it! Here is the unusual thing: she is cooking!”: I am building up my reputation as a cook, I am passionately working on it and you are all going to be surprised when you will come over for our dinner party on New Year’s Eve!)
